Nothing is as frightening as change. And nothing offers more opportunities.
Tourist guide, bridge-builder, President of the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations and city councillor in Passau. I connect worlds that usually talk past each other.

Who am I, really?
I have been a guide since 2003. I train guides, represent them worldwide and sit on Passau city council.
Behind all of it are the same questions:
How do people really meet each other?
How does change succeed without leaving anyone behind?
Where is the line between explaining and influencing?
I am a seeker. And I think that is a good thing.
Love it, change it or leave it.
Change scares people, me too. But standing still hurts more, especially in a place you love. That is why I would rather shape than complain: on tours, in classrooms, in the council and worldwide for our profession.
- Enable rather than prevent.
- Meet at eye level.
- Whoever explains carries responsibility.
- Places of power, felt not seen.
- Democracy on a human scale.

In conversation · Niederbayern TV
“Aren't we all seekers, our whole lives? Isn't it actually something wonderful when you can stay open?”
A 30-minute conversation with Niederbayern TV Passau about the smoking-ban referendum, hostility, courage and why I went back into politics.
▶ Watch the interview (German)In my own words
“Doch wenn nichts passiert, bleibt eine Stadt stehen. Und das tut weh. Besonders, wenn man diese Stadt liebt.”
“The destination is the stage. The healing happens in the human encounter on that stage.”
“Politik darf streiten, aber sie sollte nie die menschliche Ebene verlieren.”
“We explain. We connect. We give context. And in doing so, we shape perception. That is influence. And influence is responsibility.”
“Es geht nicht nur um Fakten, sondern auch um Atmosphäre, um Kraftorte, um das, was man nicht sehen, aber spüren kann.”
On the road
On stage, at congresses, with guests. And in between, a snapshot.
Most of these photos were taken between two appointments: on the way to a congress, after a tour, in a rare free hour. Often a quick selfie is all that remains.

My worlds
I see my companies and offices as workshops for change.
